About us

We are Bernard and Elizabeth Foley. Our family farm is located at the corner of Thunder Rd and Lightning St in the municipality of South Dundas, Ontario. We are committed to sustainable and ecologically sound growning practices and believe that quality food should be available for all. Our crops and produce are certified organic.

Our honey is produced by our bees on our property. The honey is extracted, filtered and bottled onsite. The honey is not certified organic.

We are passionate about our products and the way we produce them. We are proud members of Canadian Organic Growers, Ecological Farmers of Ontario, the Eastern Ontario Woodlot Association and the Ontario Beekeepers Association. Bernard is on the executive of the local chapter of the National Farmers Union.

We have an 18 acre wildlife habitat preserve with ponds, various trees and birdhouses that we would like to see as a potential healing forest. Feel free to ask us more about this!

We invite you to tour our gardens, orchards and fields on this website and encourage you to contact us if you wish to have any further information or discussion.

We offer our customers a large variety of certified organic produce. Our large list includes, but is not limited to, Soyabeans, Buckwheat, Rye, Barley, Spelt, Corn, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Garlic, and Potatos (on request). We also offer high-quality locally produced non-organic honey.

Unfortunately, no. Because we cannot control where our honeybees forage, it is extremely difficult to certify honey as organic in North America.

Certified Organic farming is an agricultural production system that promotes and enhances biological diversity. It is based on minimal use of off-farm inputs and on management practices that restore, maintain and enhance ecological harmony.

" I have had honey and asparagus from Bernard and Elizabeth Foley. I must admit that the honey was very smooth and tasty. I also was never a fan of asparagus before, but this was extremely clean, fresh and flavorful. I am a fan now. I would recommend anyone and everyone to purchase from Bernard and Elizabeth."

- Adele Gannon

" Bernard and Elizabeth are generous people and they talk with passion about their production. It is always a pleasure to meet them and see how they give love to what they are doing. You will never be disappointed about the quality of their products. "

- Valerie Yoder

"Lightning Street Organics makes the best products I have ever tasted! Their honey is lovely especially the buckwheat with its medicinal properties! My favourites are their garlic they taste so fresh and strong! Their asparagus is plump and juicy much better than anything you can buy in the store!!"

- Steve Aitken

"Many many thanks for the superb honey. Your product was a revelation , so fresh and delicious. I never realized I have been using 'FAKE' honey until now. So glad you are in our area producing a top notch product. "

- Elaine Pinkus

"The Foleys are very loyal and trust-worthy partners. FFM had nothing but positive experiences while buying soybeans, corn, and buckwheat from the Foleys. They are good business people to deal with in case of quality variables in the grains"
